I know that having a baby can sometimes feel to be an isolating experience. This class will help you increase your core strength and restore your pelvic floor weakness; it will leave you panting and sweating and will also help you find common ground with other like-minded mums!

Resistance traininG

Resistance training gives a woman that curvy and lean body we all long for. You will have strong curves in all the right places!

High-Intensity Interval Training

HIIT keeps us fit enough to race around after our little speed demons, as well as firing up the metabolism, meaning you will be burning more calories for the whole day!

PILATES Training

Pilates Training helps us to increase our muscle & core strength, our posture, balance and flexibility. Pilates can totally help to reshape your body!

When I first started Strongmum training, I was 6 months postpartum from my second baby. I was at my heaviest and my most unhealthy I have ever been, I was so anxious to go to any exercise class because I was worried I couldn’t keep up or I’d embarrass myself by just flat out not being able to do it. 

Abbie has been so helpful, every class she gives multiple options for different fitness levels and great advice on nutrition and posture. I have noticed such a difference already and I’m so grateful to have found such a supportive class.

  • Train hard and sweat using resistance training techniques mixed with Pilates and HIIIT training together with your baby or toddler.

  • Ease yourself back into fitness after having a baby.

  • Boost your confidence and social life by networking with similar mothers and making new friends.

  • Find what exercises and training techniques are best for your particular weak points, and learn how to strengthen them - including restoring your pelvic floor weakness & abdominal separation.

 
 
 
 
FAQ

Can I attend the class as soon as the baby is born? 

No you must have been signed off by your Health visitor before resuming physical activity.

Is the class suitable for mum’s with diastasis recti (abdominal separation)

YES! Every exercise has a modification to make it suitable for D.R. However, there will be some instances where I will advise you to seek medical referral to a Physiotherapist. 

What happens during half term? 

Nothing changes, but you can bring along any other children who are on half term. 

What happens during bank holiday?

The Rivermead Centre closes, but a Zoom session will be available instead! 

What if I can no longer attend classes?

You should notify me and cancel your standing order, I will calculate the remaining payment and refund you within 28 working days. 

Are there Baby-Changing facilities? 

Yes

What if I’m still breastfeeding? 

There are several mums who are attending classes and breastfeeding. Some may simply sit down on the met and feed, but there is a small room near to the hall where you can have privacy to feed.

How difficult are the classes? 

They are suitable for all fitness levels & strengths, so you can join as soon as the health visitor or GP has cleared you to exercise.

What if my baby/child is older? 

The babies & toddlers who attend range up to pre-school age.
